After the Step Pyramids, I am visiting Red Pyramid about 12km away.
It is believed to be Egypt's first successful attempt at constructing a smooth-sided pyramid. The Bent Pyramid on the far left ( which I will not be visiting) and The Red Pyramid on the right.
A closer shot of Bent Pyramid.
The entrance of the pyramid is on the middle of the pyramid.
The Red pyramid was named for the rusty reddish hue of its red limestone stones.
The ticket show The Bent Pyramid although I am visiting Red Pyramid. To get to the entrance, must climb up the steep stairs luckily there are hand barrier installed.
The inside of the pyramid is not for those with claustrophobia. If you have irrational fear of confined spaces, don't enter.
The hallway is steep and must maintain the "duck walk" due to the low ceiling.
Can't remember how long but I am happy finally can stretch my body upon reaching the main burial chamber.
The ceiling was corbel-vaulted at the main burial chamber.
