I’m back in Manado for the fifth time, and the Scary Breasted Kingfisher has always been one of my top targets.
Despite missing it during my previous visit, my persistence paid off on this fifth attempt.
I finally spotted this stunning bird on the final day of my trip, fulfilling a long-held wish.
In addition to this prized sighting, I was rewarded with several bonus birds, including the Sulawesi Pitta.
While I had seen this bird before, this trip offered a much closer and clearer view.
Another delightful surprise was the Sulphur-bellied Whistler, a species I hadn't expected to encounter.
Just as our trip was winding down, we were treated to another unplanned gem—the Sulawesi Heleia. It was the perfect way to cap off an incredible and unforgettable birding adventure. What a fantastic journey!
