The restaurant we picked is right on the lake, giving us an amazing, up-close view.
We snagged a table at the very end to soak in every bit of the scenery.
Lake Tondano is bustling with life, especially when it comes to aquaculture. Many local families rely on farming freshwater fish like tilapia and catfish, which really helps the community thrive. We even spotted two boys diving with homemade spearguns, probably on the hunt for a tasty catch!
The lake is surrounded by gorgeous green hills and volcanic peaks, making it a vital part of the area’s stunning landscape.
We saw fishermen busy at work, gliding across the water in their traditional wooden boats.
And let’s not forget the Little Egret, which was also busy fishing too.
Plus, we caught sight of some Black Kites swooping down to hunt in the lake. What an incredible spot to enjoy lunch!
