Day Trip to Nusa Peninda

After 2 days of intense diving, we have a day trip to a small island off Bali called Nusa Peninda. I have been diving several time near the island for manta ray & mola-mola but have not physically step onto the island. This will be my first.
Sanur, Bali
We will be crossing the sea from Sanur over to Nusa Peninda.

We are taking this boat with powerful engine to cross over to Nusa Peninda.

To get on board the boat, we have to walk in the water sometimes to knee deep depends on the tide.
Nusa Peninda
It was chaos at the pier when we arrived at Nusa Peninda. The tiny pier are packed with cars waiting to pick up the tourists that just arrived on the island. It was a quiet pristine get away location just few years ago and never will I ever imagine it is so jammed pack with tourist and private vehicles.
Nusa Peninda
Mount Agong can be seen clearly from Nusa Peninda.

After more than 30minutes of waiting, our car finally get to move away from the pier and start our sight seeing. We planned to visit 3 area before heading back to Bali.
Nusa Peninda
While everybody was busy taking photo of the cinematic view, I saw this family of 3 trying to avoid the human crowd. It used to be more macaque than human and just maters of few years, the situation changed. It is now more human than macaque in this small island.
Nusa Peninda
Every photo that I have taken appear so blue. Not surprisingly why the tourist flood to this originally a very quiet island.
Nusa Peninda
We have lunch at a restaurant in Angel's Billabong. This is a very basic restaurant with very basic set-up.
Nusa Peninda
The same arrangement just like when we arrived, the car will send the tourist all the way to the pier (first come , first serve) and will wait for the next boat that bring in other batch of tourist. Both side of the pier have no safety barrier, accident is waiting to happen with just one simple mistake...  with the number of tourist on the rise, hopefully the authority will step in and manage it.
Nusa Peninda
We don't have to step or walk in the water to board the boat for our trip back to Bali.
