Northern Thailand Trip Day 2 Part 1 of 3

After a very fruitful start of my first day of birding at Northern Thailand during winter at Doi Ang Khang, I'm all ready to explore Doi Lang on the 2nd day. Doi Lang, Thailand
Compare to Doi Ang Khang, Doi Lang have less flowering tree. I only saw a few tree that are blooming.Doi Pak Hom Pok National Park
Saw this sign at Doi Pak Hom Pok National Park within Doi Lang. Hopefully all visitors will respect the nature & don't do any thing that will change the behavior of the animal while observing or photograph them. Doi Lang, Thailand
I must say that this is another very fruitful day with sighting of many new birds for me. I'll post some of the photos once I have sorted them out. While on the way back to our hotel at Fang, we stop-by to take photo of this very nice building in the middle of a plantation. This is an mandarin orange plantation. I'm sure this place will be even nicer later this month when the fruits are ripen.
Mandarin orange
On a closer look, some of the fruits already ripen. Mandarin orange is one of the must have for Chinese New Year celebration!
Doi Lang, Thailand
Sun about to set on this very beautiful place. What a good way to end our trip today! I just sit down going through my photos and while waiting for the sun to set.
Sun set at Doi Lang
 Isn't it beautiful?

It has been another wonderful day at Northern Thailand. Nice weather, beautiful landscape & very rich biodiversity! What a paradise for nature lover!
Banners, Thailand
I saw this very interesting banners on our way to Fang. I think these are part of the decoration for Chinese New Year? There are 12 animals (same with Chinese zodiac) represent 12 zodiacs. However, the last zodiac has been replaced with elephant. Perhaps is customised version? Will have to find out from some of my Thailand's friend some day...   (to be continued)

Double Happiness

What a coincidence, is double happiness today for people in Asia to celebrate 2 special day at the same time. Is Valentine's Day and is also last day of Chinese New Year (aka Yuan Xiao Jie or Cap Goh Meh) 元宵節。
Valentine Day

Romance can be found just everywhere if you open your heart.....  This photo was created from sun set at Bang Ta Boon of Thailand, Rose Garden of Genting Highland, Malaysia & Flamingo from Jurung, Singapore.

Wish everyone a very Happy Valentines Day & 元宵節快樂!

Northern Thailand Trip Day 1 Part 3

After the long break from Chinese New Year is time to get back and sort out photos of my birding trip at Thailand.
White Capped River Redstart
As soon as we arrive at Doi Ang Khang, this beautiful bird was there waiting to welcome us. White Capped Water Redstart aka River Chat.
Black Breasted Thrush
This shot took me quite a while as this bird don't stop at one place for too long. I have so many blur shots under low lighting and this was pick from among many of the blur shots that I have. Thrush are among the skittish birds perhaps. No exception for this Black Breasted Thrush.
White Tailed Robin
This White Tailed Robin was much 'opened'. He don't mind to stay longer for a glamour shot.
Sooty-headed Bulbul
One of the more common birds at Doi Ang Khang - Sooty Headed Bulbul.
Grey Winged Blackbird
Grey Winged Black Bird! This is my first time seeing one black bird. In fact, a lot of birds in the coming days are also my first sighting! Lots of lifers!
Chestnut Bellied Rock Thrush
Need not mentioned, this is also my first time seeing a Chestnut Bellied Rock Thrush. This bird also appeared in my last posting!
Olive Backed Pipit
Olive Backed Pipit just like Paddy Field Pipit that I familiar but slightly bigger in size.
Grey Bushchat (male)
Another most common bird that I seen for this trip is the Grey Bushchat. This is the male Grey Bushchat.
Grey Bushchat (female)
Female Grey Bushchat.
Cherry Blossom Thailand
Isn't this beautiful... I'm not sure the exact name for these tree but they are known as Thailand Cherry Blossom.
Horses
We just celebrated new Chinese New Year and this year is the year of horse. So lovely couple!  :)  (to be continued...)

立春雞蛋真的能站立

也忘了什么時候開始,每年在立春時都會嘗試讓雞蛋站立起來。

如果也想玩一玩,明年可別忘了哦。
