Saw this pair of very hard working Plantain Squirrel (Callosciurus notatus) at Singapore Botanic Garden... so cute! Plantain squirrel eat mainly fruits and nuts but also snack on insects and other titbits that they found.

Crimson Sunbird
As with most birds, sunbird also show sexual dimorphic. Male sunbird usually have a very bright & colourful plumage and female usually duller as compare. Is really difficult to identify female sunbird on the field if they are not with the male sunbird. They looks very similar to Olive-backed sunbird & about the same size too!
Male Crimson Sunbird (Aethopyga siparaja) with very beautiful plumage.
Without the bright plumage, can you tell if this is Crimson sunbird or Olive backed sunbird?

Laced Woodpecker
Most of the time, woodpecker are found pecking on tree
branches high up the tree. I saw a pair of Laced woodpecker (Picus vittatus) foraging on the
ground. On a closer look, is actually a female laced woodpecker escorting her
just fledged chick. At times it will stop & feed the chick.
I was puzzled when I first saw this female Laced Woodpecker. Wonder why she was foraging on the ground. After seeing this juvenile woodpecker, the other was protecting the just fledged chick.
Mother & her chick
The juvenile learn to look for food on the tree trunk.

Belinjau Lover
One
of my favourite snack is belinjau chips, I like it best to go with sambal chili
(chili with prawn paste). Belinjau or some called it Belinjo is from the tree Gnetum gnemon. Some birds like it too, such as Black Naped Oriole (Oriolus chinensis).
This bird is smart enough to exclude the seed, which can be hard to digest and take only the soft part.
Other than Black Naped Oriole, I also seen Asian Koel feeding on Belinjau too.
