Black Tip Shark at Semakau

It was a really a good news to hear that a baby black tip shark was signted at Semakau. It was reported by Sport Fishing Association (Singapore) on 2nd March. This will means that Semakau possibly a breeding area for black tip sharks.
However, to ensure they continue to visit and hopefully stay at Semakau, fishing activities must take into consideration not to drive them away. Hence, catch and release fishing (sports fishing) will help to minimise the impact. Shark sightings is consider very rare or lucky in Singapore waters, not to mention shark breeding ground. Any catch and keep or kill fishing will sure to drive the sharks away!!!

    Hi. Yesterday evening I caught a small Black Tip Shark from one of the islands used as a breakwater for Palawan Beach, Sentosa. It weighed about 1.5 kilograms. Caught and released in good health.
